Finance company [stealth]

Business

The input was an AI-built proof of concept, currently used for customer demonstrations. It isn’t in production yet.

I’ve put the deployment foundations and access controls in place: a deployment strategy, separate environments, the delivery pipeline, and controls for who can sign in and what they can do.

I’m working on the tests, AI guardrails and further refactoring needed before production. The future operating and support arrangements still need to be established.

Engineering

An agent-built POC used for customer demonstrations, with production work still ahead.

Deployment strategy, environments, CI/CD, authentication and authorisation are in place.

The test framework, guardrails for AI usage and other refactors are in progress. Operational ownership, maintenance and incident response remain part of planning for production.

I’m thrilled to announce that I helped a stealth fintech take its AI-built prototype from “works on my laptop” to “works in three environments.” 🚀 Let that sink in. Three. Environments. Here’s what CI/CD taught me about leadership: 1️⃣ Every pipeline is a people pipeline. 2️⃣ Authentication is just trust, with extra steps. 3️⃣ Authorisation is trust, with even more steps. Are we in production yet? No. Neither is growth. Growth is a journey. 🌱 Agree? 👇 #AI #Fintech #StealthMode #GrowthMindset #Humbled

CHARP

Business

CHARP monitors museum and heritage collections with hard- and software. Sensors report to a platform used by conservators.

I coordinated a custom LoRaWAN device with external suppliers and took it to market.

I manage the budget and a team of one to three developers, alongside asset and operations tooling, new-feature proofs of concept, rollout and customer support.

Engineering

Unpopular opinion: museums are the original IoT. 🏛️📡 For centuries, priceless collections had no way to tell anyone they were feeling a little humid. So we gave them a voice. A custom LoRaWAN sensor. External suppliers. One to three developers. One vision. 👁️ Today the collections send telemetry. Tomorrow? Thought leadership. 🖼️ I’m humbled to be Chief of Product AND Tech. Yes, both. It’s a lot of hats. 🎩🎩 What is YOUR collection trying to tell you? 👇 #IoT #LoRaWAN #Heritage #DigitalTransformation #ArtIsData

A huge Belgian festival (you know the one)

Business

Ticket on-sales bring concentrated demand to the festival’s digital systems.

I led the team responsible for the account, queues, ticketing, crew accreditation and cashless links, for four years.

My responsibilities included the budget, suppliers, architecture and security, plus data-protection coordination with the DPO office. I reported to the CEO.

Engineering

Systems designed for extreme on-sale peaks, spanning the fan account, virtual queues, ticketing, crew accreditation and cashless integrations.

Development manager and software architect for the digital and data team, from January 2020 to December 2023.

Architecture, security, supplier coordination and budget, with data-protection work coordinated with the DPO office and reporting to the CEO.

At 10:00:00, the entire world tried to buy a ticket at once. 🎟️ At 10:00:01, I learned the most important lesson of my career. It wasn’t about queues. It was about PEOPLE. ❤️ For four years I led the team behind the account, the queues, the ticketing, crew accreditation and cashless. I can’t tell you which festival. (You know the one. 😉) 3 things a virtual queue taught me about life: ➡️ Everyone is waiting for something. ➡️ Refreshing never helps. ➡️ Your place in line is a mindset. What’s your on-sale story? Drop it below. 👇 #Leadership #Events #Queueing #NDA #Grateful

We built mobile ordering and payment for hospitality and events, and I co-founded the company. I ran the technical side with a team of four: product, architecture and hiring. The company ran out of cash. We were too early to market...

Engineering

A mobile ordering platform for hospitality and events: React, React Native and Node.js, with a domain-driven, event-sourced architecture, CQRS, and services on Docker and Rancher. Co-founder and CTO, four of us on the technical side. The architecture scaled close to linearly with the user base. The company ran out of runway before the market for ordering from your phone was ready.

My startup failed. 💔 Just kidding. It ran out of cash. Totally different. Let me explain. 🧵 In 2014 we built mobile ordering and payment for bars, restaurants and events. Event-sourced. CQRS. Scaled close to linearly. The market? Not ready. Us? Visionaries. 🔭 The bank account? Also not ready. Today everyone orders from their phone, and I would like to formally take credit. Founders: being early is just being right with worse timing. ⏳ ♻️ Repost if you were also too early for something. #Startups #FounderJourney #CQRS #TooEarly #Resilience

I’m excited to share that I once led a team of about seven people who made TV work in a browser. 📺✨ Not “watch TV.” MAKE it work. YUGO TV. Play Sports. Chromecast for web. React, TypeScript and friends. Some people call that web development. I call it bringing families together around a responsive layout. 👨‍👩‍👧 The secret? Coaching. Code reviews. And never, ever giving up on Safari. Who else has fought a video player and won? 🙌 #Leadership #Streaming #React #Safari #Blessed
